Counseling Support

Valley School Counselor:  Tricia Burns

Transcripts:

Official transcripts must be requested through your home high school.  Please check with the counseling office for details.

Work Agreements:

As summer approaches, many are looking for work. Make sure that you get the paperwork you need from Ms. Richardson (secretary) in order to be able to count your work hours towards elective credit.

60 hours of work = .5 elective credit

You may earn up to 3 elective credits per year by accruing work hours.  If you work during the summer, those hours can go on this year’s transcript.  That means you can continue to work throughout the school year and earn an additional 3 elective credits.

Concurrent Enrollment:

Valley is a ½-day program; therefore, you are expected to have a concurrent enrollment in order to be considered a full-time student beginning day 1 of the fall semester.

Options you have for concurrent enrollment are:

  • Electives at your home high school

  • Career Center

  • Western Colorado Community College (WCCC)

  • Work (20 hours/week with a non-family member)

  • Volunteering (at a non-profit for at a minimum 20 hours/week)

If you currently PLAN to get a job, but currently do not have one, please create a class schedule with your home school and we can adjust in August if the job comes through.

If you have any questions about your concurrent enrollment, make sure to ask you counselor to verify that your choice will meet the necessary requirements as a concurrent enrollment.

Please be safe and keep each other safe!
