Exciting New School Year for Valley!

A Look into What Next Year Brings!
Together WE Can!

See the letter below from Valley's retiring principal to students and parents outlining how Valley staff, students, and parents can look forward to the changes happening for Valley next year.

Dear Valley students and families,

I hope this finds you well and enjoying your summer in our beautiful western Colorado surroundings.  I’m writing now to keep you up to date on some changes at Valley School.

You may hear that Valley is relocating to a new building on the Career Center campus next year.  This is exciting news to learn that we are getting an upgraded building that will better meet Valley’s needs.  For now, you will still start the school year at Valley School on the WCCC campus just like you always have. Your teachers and counselor will be there for you to keep you informed.  They can answer questions you may have about the relocation which is scheduled to happen sometime during this next school year.

As many of you know, I have decided to retire.  It was not an easy decision because I love our Valley School students and all of the good work that goes on there.  Mr. Nash was also able to share with you that he has retired.  Unfortunately, Mr. Smyth was not able to tell you that he is retiring, as well.  Because you mean so much to all of us, we are sad to not be able to say our goodbyes in person and to share a last Valley School end of year BBQ with you.  If you see any of us out in the community, please say hi!

When you return to school on August 10, you will find Ms. Shaver, Mrs. Flook, Ms. Gould, and Mrs. Starr there at Valley.  I know it will be good for you to see familiar faces.  I also know that I can count on you to welcome any new staff members that will be joining the Valley School family.

Your new principal is Mr. Cam Wyatt.  He is currently the principal at the Career Center.  Some of you may already know him.  He will be there to lead Valley and to support you in your journey toward graduation and beyond.

I wish you all the best.  It has been an honor for me to have been a part of Valley School.  You are an extraordinary group of students that have so much to offer. Always remember that!   I will miss you.

Take care,

Mrs. Krick
